XROADS – Il ballo dei bottoni
Workshops and concerts with Pierpaolo Vacca & Thomas Prünster
This event is part of the Waag Europe-Xroads series
Xroads is a series dedicated to instruments, dances and musical repertoires that, like true crossroads, have been bringing people, cultures and communities together for centuries.
The upcoming weekend focuses on button instruments: accordions, organetti and Steirische Harmonikas, rooted in different musical traditions but united by their ability to cross borders, create encounters and evolve through dialogue with other cultures.
The weekend opens with a talk followed by a concert by Pierpaolo Vacca and his Sardinian organetto, with a repertoire spanning jazz, European traditions and contemporary music. On Sunday, Thomas Prünster invites participants to discover traditional South Tyrolean dances in a workshop accompanied by his Steirische Harmonika.
