Talk & sewing workshop
Guest event by Ella / Waag+3
On Sunday, October 26, Handmade Teddy Time comes to life — a family workshop that brings together handcraft and thought through creative activities, readings, and evening talks of high cultural and emotional value.
The day begins in the morning with the Handmade Teddy Time workshop, led by Licoriceroot (the artistic name of Alice Ferdico), in collaboration with Intrecci Sartoria, a small artisanal business founded in Trento in 2023 by Anna and Maddalena – sisters-in-law, mothers, and passionate advocates for sewing and sustainability.
During the morning session, participants will have the chance to create their own teddy bear using upcycled materials provided by the sartoria. It’s a unique opportunity to learn simple sewing techniques, accessible even to beginners, in a warm and creative environment.
The star of the workshop is the bear – a symbolic animal of the Alpine and Trentino wildlife. Each teddy can be personalized with small felt hearts, chosen by participants to represent the character or the “soul” of their plush creation — a poetic and affectionate gesture that makes every bear unique.
After the workshop, there will be a talk with the two artisanal collectives involved and the chance to purchase their creations in a contemporary store thoughtfully curated by ELLA.
